How To Download Digital Scrapbooking Kit?

First step to make digital scrapbook is download the component you need to create your scrapbook pages. This is the way to download the kit and elements.

Downloading a free scrapbooking kits from any sites by clicking on the available image. A dialog box will come up with the option to either Open With or Save to Disk. Select Open With: Compressed Folder (default) and click OK. Check mark the box next to where it says “Do this automatically for files like this from now on”. This makes  the files will always begin downloading automatically without you having to press OK. The file will begin downloading.

Once it’s finished, the file will be displayed in a new Windows Explorer screen. From here, it needs to be un-zipped. In the box on the left, click the link that says Extract All Files. Click Next, then click Browse to select where you want to store your digital scrapbooking download. Usually we will click My Documents, then Create New Folder, and created an entire folder that named “Digital Scrapbooking” so it’d be easy to find and remember. Click OK, then Next, and the file will un-zip. Click Finish.

Repeat this step as many times as necessary for all your downloads.

When you’re done, open up your digital imaging program such as Adobe Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.

Eraser tool and moving selection for your scrapbooks

Photoshop has lots of tool options, they have different function to help you make digital scrapbooking. One of those options is Eraser tool. Eraser tool is divided in to two part. That are magic eraser tool and background eraser tool, each of them has different function.  This is one reason why photoshop is great for digital scrapbooking because each tool can be customized.

Magic eraser tool

Magic eraser tool will erase pixel which are all the same color or similar color and often in large areas. How magic eraser tool works? First, choose magic eraser tool, tolerance about 32 – 72 , contiguous, anti-aliased. Next, click magic eraser tool on the background of picture. The color of background will be erased easily.

Background eraser tool

Background eraser tool can be used to erase same color area and different color area. For example, you can move image of a butterfly flies in the sky to image in your hand. Open picture butterfly > background erase tool. In option bar choose brush with size 60, limits discontiquous, tolerance 25% and click protect foreground color. Erase the background with pointer. The plus sight on the pointer might not touch the butterfly. You can move the image butterfly, using move tool to image your hand.

Moving selection

You can move the selection even though you are in process of creating them. How we can do it?

Use the elliptical marquee tool to draw an approximate selection.  Whit the left mouse button and shift key hold down. Hold the space bar and position the selection over the desired region. Back to the space bar and continue the sizing the selection. Finally, let go of the mouse button.

Simple border with rectangular marque tool

If you want to make a simple border for your photo, you can design it with rectangular tool. Open rectangular image background with wood motif > rectangular tool > always press shift button to make rectangular selection that you want > move tool > edit >> free transform > change the selection until you get shape that you want > enter > move tool > move the selectin on the top right > write some notes on the shape. Now you have simple design border for your digital scrapbooking.

Making mountain image looked cooler

Your picture with spring season image looked doesn’t cool. You can make it cooler with photo filter. Open your picture > image >> Adjusment >>> photo filter . In dialog box of photo filter choose filter than click cooling filter. Your picture will be looked cooler than before. If you aren’t satisfy with changing of photo filter, you can click color in dialog box of photo filter. Next will show color picker, choose the color which match with your picture.

Make your garden picture look so clear

Your garden picture looked dark, and you think how can I make it look so clear?

Open garden image>image>adjustment>>curves. The curves’s dialog box will be showed,  click channel red, green, blue, RGB, move dot on the curves until you get picture that is looked so clear.

Tips For Digital Scrapbooking Using Photoshop.

You should try to make photo with creative poses. Good photo will bring out your digital scrapbooking page from boring. Let’s make people look at your page and enjoy your digital scrapbooking. Here is a tip to make one photo become some photos which has different color of dress. In pothoshop 7 to change the color go to Image >Adjust>Replace color>select image>you can move scroll of Hue, until you get  the color you like.

Crop and resize photo. Sometimes we make a big mistake when we resize our photo, it is not proportional, and the photo will be distorted. Tip to make the photo proportional is : press the shift key when you resize your photo.

Using the layer palette. working with layers is the most critical part in the process of digital scrapbooking. If you are still a beginner, start with few layers. You can practice with moving layer in front, or in back to get hang of thing. In Photoshop you have to look the layer palette to select the layer that you want to move. You should give the name for every layer, and you will not get confused  when working with some layers.

Get your photo like photocopy. This is the way to make your photo become more creative. Your photo will be looked like photocopy and can be placed in the same page with the real photo.
